Everyone Needs Vitamin D!

Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble secosteroids responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calciummagnesium, and phosphate, and many other biological effects. In humans, the most important compounds in this group are vitamin D3 (also known as cholecalciferol) and vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol).

Western medicine finally catches up to what natural medicine has known for a very long time; the importance of vitamin D3 for health care is invaluable. For years, it has been thought that only a little sunlight per day would help keep your calcium in your body, and that it was enough to produce as much as you need.

However, many additional health benefits from vitamin D3 have been discovered. Moreover, the northern areas that have long winters with sunshine do not get enough sunshine (not with the sunscreen) to make your body what it really needs, particularly people from October to May who don't have a strong enough sunshine to have an impact.

This is considerably higher than the traditional recommendation for Western Medicine, although the information recommended is also published on higher doses.

Can vitamin D3 excessive?

There has been a lot of misinformation in this country and abroad. The sole problem with excessive use of vitamin D3 to concern is hypocalcemia (low calcium levels). To achieve this, however, 40,000 IU a day would be needed in healthy adults. The upper limit on vitamin D intake is approximately equal to that produced by a natural adult lifeguard during mid-summer: 10,000 IU per day. Thus, 2,000-5,000 IU per day are well within the security limits for both children and adults. Vitamin D levels can be tested on your blood. Vitamin D3 is 50 and higher than optimum.
